The movie world is still in shock from the news that Philip Seymour Hoffman has passed away at the age of 46.

The actor won the Oscar for Best Actor in 2005 for Capote, and he received 3 nominations for Best Supporting Actor (Charlie Wilson's War, Doubt, and The Master).

He probably passed away from a drug overdose, and he'd been fighting his addiction for the months leading up to his death.

Celebs posted their condolences online:

Sam Claflin: PSH – I am genuinely shocked, saddened and speechless.

Isabelle Fuhrman: Such a brilliant actor and man gone way too soon. Rest in Peace Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Ellie Goulding: Philip Seymour Hoffman, one of the most magnificent actors in the world, has died? Can’t believe it.

Amber Riley: Rip #PhilipSeymourHoffman

Dylan O’Brien: RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman. One of the greatest actors this world will ever know.

Bella Thorne:condolences to the family of the very talented Philip Seymour Hoffman #RIP

Sarah Hyland: RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman. You were a tremendous actor that I had always admired. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

Lionsgate, the Hunger Games movies' studio, released a statement for the Catching Fire actor:

"[Philip Seymour] Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation. We're very fortunate that he graced our Hunger Games family. Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Philip's family.”
