In the first challenge of American Idol's Hollywood Week, contestants were broken into groups and asked to sing a capella.

Perhaps, a bit predictably, some of the group performances were completely train wrecks. Note to singers: Focus less on the choreography, more on the lyrics!

Judges Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban decided to cut Dustin Watts, Dr. Calvin Peters, and others.

Solo performances are next, and they're always more exciting than the group ones!
