Human trafficking is basically the illegal trade of people for the purpose of sexual exploitation, slavery and/or forced labor. It may be hard to believe, but human trafficking is happening in a lot of places in the world today, and affects mostly children.

Willow and her family sat in at the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Hearing to help support an extentiosn to the current Trafficking Victims Protection Act.

“Fighting slavery doesn’t cost a lot of money. The costs of allowing it to exist in our nation and abroad are much higher. It robs us of the thing we value most, our freedom," said Jada Pinkett-Smith, Willow's mom.

Willow's mom has also written a lot of music that deals with spreading awareness about human trading. For some children, salvery through human trafficking is just a part of life.

Willow shows that just because you're young does not mean you can't do your part to help make the world we live in a better place. We're so glad she has taken a stand and become interested in social activisim- she really is a great role model!
