In the most recent issue of Teen Vogue Demi dishes on why she had to get rid of the bad influences in her life- even though they had been friends of hers.
“I did kind of a friend cleanse right after rehab, where I weeded out people who didn’t have my best interests at heart,” Demi tells Teen Vogue. “Now I have friends who love me for who I am and don’t care about what I’m doing … Some of them don’t even know my songs!”
Sometimes you need to take a step back and really think about which friends are there to support you and which don't really care about your well being.
Demi went on to say:
"Treatment was so difficult at first. I remember walking around saying ‘I’m in prison!’”
“They needed to have those strict rules in order for me to understand how sick I was. I wasn’t allowed to use the bathroom by myself. We had specific phone times. There are tons of things you weren’t allowed to have, you weren’t allowed to have certain hair products or whatever, that you could injure yourself with or possibly drink, and you were just stripped of a lot of things.”
After having to deal with that it's no wonder Demi only wanted to be with her real friends once she got out.
Have you ever had to drop some friends because they weren't treated you the way you deserved to be treated?
