The singer was the original pick for the song, but it ended up going to Rihanna. Of course, the song became a huge hit.

Here's what Leona had to say about it:

“I worked with Calvin [Harris] and we recorder 'We Found Love”. But he went touring with Rihanna and she ended up releasing it.”

So why didn't she take the song?

“I didn't commit to it because I wanted 'Trouble' to be my first single so I think that was another reason they went with Rihanna.”

Are the Leona and Rihanna versions different?

“It was the same version and production but mine's better.”

How did Leona feel when she heard RiRi's version?

"It was a bit annoying to see how big a hit it was around the world, but if I’d released it maybe it wouldn’t have done as well...I still have the recording but I’d never leak it. That’s so unprofessional.”
