One Direction fandom will be coming to the Olympics! The boys will officially be closing out the games!

1D is expected to rock the stage at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony on August 12.

The opening ceremony was one of the most watched openings in Olympic history! A record-breaking 40.7 million people tuned in and made it the most-watched Olympic opener ever.

...and if that's what the opening was like, the closing ceremony is sure to be even more spectacular and possiblly even more widely watched!

The British/Irish guys will join an already super star-studded lineup of: The Who, Take That, Queen, and the Spice Girls to close out the games.

1D has been soaking up the Olympic spirit, Niall tweeted: “Don’t know if it’s just me, but the excitement in London is unbelievable!”  “Its gonna be a great games.”

And Liam revealed his secret dream to compete: “If i wasnt in 1D, running in the olympics would of been my dream :),” he tweeted.
