Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, and that's ok. It can seem like your life is over in the moment, but the important thing is to learn from them. Here are some of the most common mistakes.
Thinking that it's always - or almost always - someone else's fault. When something goes wrong, it's really easy to blame someone else. Think of stuff like "My teacher gave me a D on the paper because she hates me." The fix? Take a step back, and think hard about what happened, and what you can change for next time.
Judging someone based on how they dress or what they look like. People do choose how they dress and you might not like their style, but remember that what really counts is on the inside.
Insulting someone because they don't like your favorite band. Everyone gets annoyed when somebody disses your favorite music, but don't get into an argument. You know that saying "to each his own"? Everybody's musical tastes are different, and that's okay. Just relax.
Procrastinating - "I'll do it tomorrow!" There's another important saying: "Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today." It's easy to be lazy, but it'll make you more stressed out later. Try your best to get things out of the way.
Spending tons of money without thinking. It's super easy to go to the mall and then suddenly realize you've spent wayyy more than you wanted to. Before you go shopping, make a list of what you need and figure out how much you can spend. And if you find that somehow you spent tons of cash (oops!), check out a store's return rules.
Promising yourself you'll do something every day (studying, exercizing), and then letting it slide. It's easy to stay on the sofa instead of doing your homework. So give yourself small goals, and tell other people what you want to do so they can help you stay on track. And it's okay if you miss a day every now and then.
Stressing about the future - everyone does this! Focus on the present, and enjoy the moment!
Wambie girls, have you made any of these super common mistakes?
