Over the past few months, there have been tons of rumors about a rivalry between the two hottest boy bands, but is it true?

According to Liam Payne, the rumor is 100% false:

"To be honest, we haven't really got a problem with anyone,"We've never really said anything about it. We've kind of ignored it."

Even though Liam cleared up the rivalry rumor, he said some things that might anger fans of The Wanted:

"But for me, The Wanted have made their career more about us than anything else. They've only got themselves to blame. They do their dance music and we'll do our rock'n'roll kind of thing. They've constantly compared us in the press. They rose to the bait, whereas we've said they can do what they want."

Liam continued, explaining that when he met The Wanted they were really cool:

"When we first spoke to them, when we were on the X Factor, they were really nice. But then you hear these stories and can't quite believe what people are saying."

So there's no rivalry between the boy bands - just a little healthy competition!

The Wanted and One Direction will both be performing on December 7th at the Z100 Jingle Ball, along with Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, and more.
