It's no secret that off screen chemistry can help the chemistry on screen seem more meaningful and realistic. Edward and Bella as characters were certainly helped out by the fact that Rob and Kristen were really in love.
Rob responded to this question asked by a fan in Cosmopoliton Hungary:
“Is it more difficult or easier to play a couple on-screen when you are together off-screen too?”
"It doesn’t mean anything."
“Okay, it doesn’t hurt that we like each other. But there are times when two actors hate each other and still can work together perfectly. What you see on the screen is a lot of times totally different from the real life. Of course it’s not ideal, if you hate each other. But your relationship doesn’t matter anyway, it’s neither an advantage nor a disadvantage because the two have nothing to do with each other.”
We can see where Rob is coming from, but Bella and Edward's romance on screen would probably have turned out a little differently if Rob and Kristen had no interest in each other.
What do you think about what Rob said? Do you agree that off-screen chemistry doesnt really matter when it comes to filming a scene?
