Looking for a new way to decorate your room? Here's a personalized, easy way to make some cool wall art for your space.
You need: magazines, paint, vinyl letters, glue, and canvases. Optional: Mod Podge and sandpaper.
First, pick out a phrase or quote you want on your art. It can be anything from song lyrics to inside jokes with your friends to inspirational sayings.
Tear out pages from your magazine. Glue them randomly on your canvas (hot glue guns work well). If you want texture, don't glue the edges down all the way.
Grab your vinyl letters, and spell out your quote on the canvas.
Then, paint over the whole thing.
Gently pull the letters off.
To finish off your art, you can add a layer of Mod Podge. If you want more of the magazine to show through the paint, rub sandpaper over the whole canvas.

You can do the same project using old books , sheet music, or thrift store paintings as the background (the “bushel and peck” one uses books, “little Suzie” uses music, and the “you make me happy” uses a painting).
This would be a fun project to do with your friends one weekend. It's cheap, easy, and original.
