Demi Lovato just gave a really candid new interview for fitness magazine Self, where she talked about everything from her eating disorder to her time in rehab to how she’s succeeding today.

The magazine brought up one thing that Demi hasn’t talked about much lately – her relationship with Selena Gomez.

Before, the two girls were super close and were always spotted hanging out together, going to fun red carpet events, or just messing around. But at some point, that changed, so lots of fans thought they must have had a ‘friend breakup.’

In her new interview, Demi admitted “Selena and I aren’t as close as we used to be, but she’ll always have a place in my heart.”

Maybe the two girls just grew apart naturally as they got older – it’s sad, but it happens . sometimes. And who knows? Someday, they get closer again.
