Bella Thorne recently opened up about getting bullied at school because of her dyslexia, and she had some great advice for how to handle it.
Even though Bella's a celeb now, she still gets picked on all the time. Some of her haters said that she should just back down because all celebs get criticized. Here's how Bella responded:
“Just because I'm on the red carpet meant that I should be bullied? And I should take the bullying and just suck it up? No!”
So what should you do if somebody is giving you a hard time? “I think that the scariest thing is admitting it and telling someone about it. And I think that’s the first step that you need to take.”
Bella did this by talking to her parents about the problems she was having at school. Just talking to someone you trust is great – you'll feel way less alone, because tons of people get bullied.
And what can you do in the moment?
“Don't pick a fight. If they're picking a fight with you, I would say to walk away. That's the easiest thing to do, because if you keep antagonizing them, it just gets worse.”
And remember, don't worry about what other people think!
“Who cares what they say about you? They don't know you, they don't know your life.”
