Avril Lavigne shot to superstardom at just 17 years old, so she reached out to current teen superstar (and fellow Canadian) Justin Bieber to give him some friendly advice.

Avril's a great person to give Justin advice as she made it through the stresses of being young and really famous. Now, she's making her fifth album and still going strong.

Good news for Bieber - "I think he's doing the right thing", says Avril. She explained it's because "He seems to be working really hard and making new material. Just take care of his voice."

She also gave him a little bit of life advice. Avril told him that "Time heals everything for whatever type of heartbreak it is. Whether you lose somebody or it's regarding a relationship, time heals everything."
