Avril Lavigne surprised everyone when she announced she was engaged to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger!

A lot of people didn't even know they were dating in the first place. On top of that, they've had a whirlwind romance – it only started six months ago before they got engaged.

Chad popped the question earlier this week, and the happy couple shared a photo of the beautiful ring he gave her.

The couple fell in love while they were working on her upcoming album. So romantic!
