Avril Lavigne is engaged to Chad Kroeger, the singer for rock band Nickelback.

A lot of people didn't even know that the two were dating! They've been together for about 6 months, and met when he helped Avril write a song for her next album.

He proposed to her on Wednesday, and she said yes. 

Avril is 27 and Chad is 37. Both of them are Canadian. He's never been married, but she used to be married to Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. They got divorced three years ago.
