Sometimes it seems like breakouts just happen for no reason…and always at the worst times!
Well, it’s true that you can just break out randomly, but there are also some things that might be contributing. Here are four things you might not know can irritate your skin.
Phones. Think of everywhere you take your phone, and how often you touch it. It might get makeup, food crumbs, germs from your hands, and sweat on it – so they can be full of bacteria. But don’t stress, this is an easy fix. Just use disinfectant wipes or a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean your phone. Do it as often as possible.
Sunglasses. These are another thing you might take everywhere (at least in the summer). You also probably put them down on lots of random surfaces. So it’s the same situation as your phone. You can clean your shades with rubbing alcohol, but be careful not to scratch the lenses.
Pillowcases. Just think about how much time you spend asleep . So anything that’s on your skin, like dirt or oil, gets absorbed into your pillowcase and can make bacteria build up. Make sure to clean your pillowcase weekly.
Makeup brushes. You might only use these sometimes, or maybe you use them every day. Either way, stuff like old makeup, bacteria, and dead skin cells builds up on brushes. Use makeup removing wipes or shampoo to clean your makeup brushes. Do this once a week if you wear makeup regularly.
All of these things could contribute to your breakouts, but you can fix them really quickly. School is starting soon, so if you make changes right around now, your skin should look its best for back to school.
