Snow is one of the best parts of the winter season, but you only see it if you live in northern climates or in the mountains.

Snow is nothing more than small crystals of ice falling in the shape of snowflakes and together forming a white winter wonderland.  White? Not always. As you will see below sometimes snow can come in many more surprising colors.

Rainbow snow:

Sounds too cool to be true right?  How is it possible? There’s still rainbow snow – of a sort – in the real world though it’s a creation of Man, not Mother Nature. The  images show what happens when it snows after you install your Christmas lights: rainbow snow.

Pink Snow:

Pink snow is not uncommon in cold desert regions such as Utah or Colorado in the United States . Rusty reddish dust gets swept into the atmosphere mixing with snow up in clouds, or it may blow on top of fresh snow in a diffuse fashion.

Red Snow:

Red snow usually looks like somebody spray-painted areas of freshly fallen white snow a rich Cherry Red hue. As the dark reddish areas absorb more heat from the sun, they tend to sink into the snow as the days go by. Red snow is a harmless natural phenomenon – not a crime scene – caused by the growth of algae from a slightly different strain than those that give rise to green snow.

Purple Snow:

Purple mountain’s majesty? There’s nothing like rich, royal purple to bring out the best in snowfalls old or new. Most commonly observed at sunrise or sunset, violet snows occur when trillions of naturally reflective snow crystals amplify and reflect the subtle lavender tint of a twilight sky. The right time, the right lighting and the age-old magic of Venice all come together fortuitously in the above photo of Venetian gondolas dusted by a rare early evening snowstorm.

Blue Snow:

Of all the possible colors, tints and hues snow can take on, blue is perhaps the least incongruous. Clouds, the sea, glacial ice, even our planet from space all appear blue, so the cerulean cast reflected so beautifully by snow appears anything but out of place. The photographic image above was taken from the interior of an ice cave on Canada’s far northern Ellesmere Island, looking out in the direction of the North Pole. The snow and ice displays a markedly blue shade that both matches and complements that of the frigid arctic sky.

After seeing this picture there is no doubt about it: Zac loves dogs.

Zac got together in Aspen, Colorado with some friends  and his mother and once there they all had the chance to play with some adorable golden retrievers.

These dogs are used to the cold, unlike Zac, who wore a polar jacket. Looks like Zac's friend is also used to the cold. She was wearing a short sleeved shirt in the middle of the winter!

At long last we have the trailer from Valentine´s Day where we can see Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner kissing.

We had seen photos but never footage of the two stars in their roles. They are only together for a couple seconds in the trailer, but it's still worth it. You will see the sparks fly.

The movie is obviously coming out in February on the 12th right before Valentine's Day. Until then we will have to make due with the trailer.

THE MOST POPULAR NAMES OF 2009

The celebrities and stars influence popular culture in many ways: fashion, music tastes and now even names that new mothers give their babies.

The web page nameberry.com has made a list of the the most popular names for newborns, and some of the names sound really familiar.

For example, many babies born in 2009 were named Hyden (after Hayden Panettiere, Claire from Heros), and Rihanna and Miley were also popular. It has also been in fashion to name babies after fictional characters. can you guess which ones? Yep.  Bella, Esme, Edward and Cullen.

Some other popular names were less obvious like Malia (Barack Obama-s daughter) and Kingston (Gwen Stefani's son).

 AMONG THE BEST DRESSED?

A few days ago we compiled a list of the worst dressed stars and according to Wambie Lady Gaga was on that list for obviously reasons.

Besides our list of the worst dressed there is also a list of the Best Dressed that comes out each year in Vogue Magazine and many people look forward to reading it. Can you guess who was on this list? Yes indeed, it was a big surprise for us but Lady Gaga was on the list.
The singer was lined up between the real pop icons like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé and Carla Bruni.

How is it possible that Lady Gaga was on this list? Is it possible that they award clothing that is inspired by aliens or excels in originality? We have decided that Vogue must be awarding Lady Gaga's originality. The magazine also agued on the singer's behalf that her style has inspired many designers.

The truth is that thankfully, Lady Gaga's style will not ever become mainstream available in the shops and stores where we usually shop...

At last we have some photos of the happy couple, newlyweds Kevin Jonas and Danielle Jonas (she gave up Deleasa when she got married).

They both fled form the cold of Long Island where they were married and went to warmer climates in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they are enjoying their honeymoon.

The young couple are trying out married life in paradise, far away from the demands usually on them back home. As you can see, the only things that they have to worry about are putting on sunscreen and sending texrt messages.
